ALMOST 200 striking unionists marched along Hunter Street to the Downer Group’s light rail construction depot on Wednesday morning as part of a three-day stoppage in pursuit of better wages and conditions.
The majority of the gathering then reassembled in Newcastle and No2 sports ground before marching along Steel Street and then into Devonshire Lane, past the Hunter Unions offices and on to Hunter Street.
